This LED lighting company in the UK specializes in energy-efficient and well-designed lighting products. They manufacture high quality LED lighting and controls for both indoors and outdoor applications.
Their primary end-customer are distributors to sell their products on, electricians to install and residential users who want to save energy.
Challenges
Their website was struggling to drive more online traffic to their business. After several failed attempts using various vendors to build links, they reached out to us.
There was little linkable content and they hadn't previously invested in any SEO work. No effort has been put into creating top or middle of funnel content.
Goals: To increase organic traffic and improve keyword rankings for specific product pages.
Strategy
In order to generate higher website traffic, we needed to target top-of-funnel leads. We started prospecting for relevant websites that matched the target audience and search intent. We agreed with the client to link to educational type content on their site. This traffic would eventually be channelled down to the sales and product pages.
As part of a wider content marketing plan, we created content for website visitors who are in the research stage of the led light buying cycle, creating in-depth guides for diyer's, first time home buyers, and landlords (required by energy efficiency legislation).
Results
Over a period of 6 months, we built 112 links. With continuous tweaking and monitoring, the strategy paid off. Our efforts improved the company's organic traffic from 34,760 to 102,470 per month, an increase of 194.79%. This led to a 14% increase in revenue.
